Wessel has been working in the notarial profession since 1984 and was appointed as civil-law notary in Amsterdam in 1999. Wessel is a corporate law specialist and has published many scientific articles on this subject in professional journals. He has also given postgraduate courses on corporate law.

He advises on national and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, the drafting of shareholder and investment agreements, restructuring of organisations, setting up of legal entities, setting up and amendment of articles of association, corporate governance issues, business succession, family governance as well as entering into joint ventures and other forms of cooperation.

After practising as a candidate civil-law notary in Amsterdam, Hugo gained international work experience at a law firm on Curaçao.

Hugo specialises in corporate law and advises national and international clients on national and cross-border legal mergers, national and cross-border re-domiciliation of companies, restructuring of organisations, acquisitions, the setting up of investment funds and corporate governance.
